1. Daily Cleaning
· A soft microfiber cloth or sponge.
· pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap diluted in water.
· Warm water rinse, then dry immediately with a soft towel.
2. Sealing
· Clean and dry the surface.
· Apply the sealer evenly with a soft cloth or applicator pad.
· Let it absorb (usually 10–15 minutes).
· Wipe off excess and let cure (as per product instructions).
3. Protection from Damage
· Use coasters and placemats under cups, bottles, and tableware.
· Avoid direct heat - always use trivets for hot items.
· Avoid heavy impact or pressure - it can chip or crack.
· For flooring, use felt pads under furniture and avoid high heels.
· For countertops, avoid cutting directly - always use a cutting board.
4. Preserving Shine
If the surface looks dull over time:
· Have it professionally polished using diamond abrasives.
· Avoid DIY polishing compounds - many are too harsh.
· Never wax onyx surfaces; wax can discolor or cloud the stone.
5. Backlit Onyx (if you have lighting)
· Keep the heat level low; LED lights are ideal.
· Ensure good ventilation to prevent heat buildup that could discolor resin fills.
· Clean the back surface gently if accessible - dust can reduce translucence.
